Publications
2002: At least one more pipe publication is expected to be released in 2002—a study of Clay Tobacco Pipes from Exeter and Topsham by Heather Coleman. Copies may be ordered direct from Heather, and are priced at $13.00 (£8, or Euro 13) air mail delivered.

2003: Several publications are anticipated in 2003. One BAR volume is a major study of the Pollock firm in England by Paul Jung. Another noteworthy publication that should be completed in 2003 will contain color photographs of the D. Burnett Point Pleasant (USA) pipe collection which was briefly available for examination and documentation in 2002. These publications, and others of which we become aware, will be announced on this site as they are published.

In Print: Currently available clay pipe volumes are:
Historic Clay Tobacco Pipe Studies, Vol. 1
Historic Clay Tobacco Pipe Studies, Vol. 2
Historic Clay Tobacco Pipe Studies, Vol. 3

These volumes, covering American and European samples, can be ordered from J. Byron Sudbury. Payment can be via PayPal or International Money order in US$. A new series--the Research Monograph Series, has also been initiated with the first volume in print:

Clay Tobacco Pipes and the Fur Trade of the Pacific Northwest and the Northern Plains by Michael A. Pfeiffer. For ordering information, click here. Volume 2 of this series is set to be released in early 2009 (see the Fort Union page (button above)).

Used Books: Miscellaneous used books and out of print clay pipe volumes will also be offered for sale here when they are available.

Other Available Clay Pipe Publications: One of the major series of volumes on clay pipes is published by British Archaeological Reports. Although the early issues are out of print, some of the more recent volumes may still be available. A list of the 15 BAR Volumes (with detailed contents of Volumes 1-12) is available on line.

Another major pipe series available is KnasterKOPF; all but the first volume of this excellent German series remain in print.

One more major pipe series that may have some issues available is the Dutch publication Pijpelogische Kring.

Ordering: Rather than establish an elaborate shopping cart system for relatively low volume book sales, available volumes can be ordered direct from the source via email contact. Contact the indicated author or distributor for payment information.
